Welcome to the world of
Archers Anarchists, the unauthorised and unofficial fan club for
listeners to The Archers.
As you will be aware, The Archers is a real life fly-on-the-wall
documentary about one of the strangest villages in England.
Ambridge is a village
inhabited by social misfits, murderers and nauseatingly cosy people.
The most mild-mannered listeners would like to pour boiling oil on
the likes of Shulugh, Rooooth, Dave and Loathsome Lizzie. It is a
village so smug that even the animals are pretty irritating.
@rchers @narchists was founded in 1995 and this year
celebrated 12 years battling against castism, one of the greatest evils
known to man or, particularly, beast. Castism is that calumny
perpetrated by the BBC who insist on parading and exploiting a whole
bunch of misguided souls, described as “the cast”.
Any self-respecting listener knows that the Archers are real – there
is no cast. When you have been listening day in day out for perhaps as
long as 50 years or so, it can be deeply upsetting suddenly to be
presented by some ludicrous photograph purporting to be one of
Ambridge’s residents.
@rchers @narchists bans the use of words
such as script, actor, cast etc. We permit no attempt at photographic
representation of Ambridge residents or institutions. We exist to fight
castism in all its sinister manifestations. We also have a healthy
disrespect for most of the Ambridge residents and welcome the maximum
amount of mayhem in the village. |
Membership of @rchers @narchists is
open to those who are prepared to follow our virtuous path, at a
knock-down price of £11. Our supporters include street sweepers, clergy
of various denominations, small time crooks, teachers, students, lawyers,
dentists, doctors and the unemployable. A subscription to our glorious
movement or an item of tasteless and mundane merchandise can make an
excellent gift.
